Editorial policy
Menopause Society of Sri Lanka invites original articles related to the field of menopause for publication in the journal. The articles may include original papers (maximum 3000 words), case reports and brief communications (maximum 1000 words), reviews relevant to practice (maximum 2500 words) and correspondence (Maximum 400 words). All material submitted is subject to peer review by members of the editorial board and a specialist reviewer where indicated.

Cover letter
Cover letter should indicate that the contents have not been already published and the paper is not being submitted elsewhere. It should acknowledge any potential conflict of interest and bring to the notice of the editor of any possible overlap with prior publications. In papers with more than one author a brief statement regarding the contribution of each author to the work reported should be included. The first author must accept the responsibility for ensuring that both the version of the paper submitted and the corrected proofs have the approval of all the co‐authors. The authors should have
General instructions
Three copies of the original manuscript should be submitted. The text should be printed on one side of numbered A4 sheets with double spacing and margins of 2.5cm. In "intervention" studies a statement that an ethical review body has approved the study with documentary evidence of such approval should accompany the article. Authors are advised to retain copies of all material submitted to the journal as these can not be returned. Each manuscript component should begin on a new page, in the sequence of title page, abstract, key words, text, acknowledgements, references, tables, illustrations and legends for illustrations.

Any article badly written (for e.g. full of errors in language) will be returned without subjecting to an academic review.
Original articles
The text should comprise introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion. The second page should carry an abstract limited to 250 words. Authors should provide a few key words or phrases for the index. All measurements must be in SI units. Abbreviations should be in parenthesis preceded by words in full before the first appearance.
Case reports and brief communications
Authors should provide a few key words or phrases for the index.
Review articles and commentaries
These are commissioned by the editor who welcomes suggestions for topics or authors. Authors should provide a few key words or phrases for the index.
Tables and illustrations
Tables should be presented separately. Illustrations should be used only when the data cannot be otherwise clearly expressed. When graphs are submitted numerical data on which they are based should be supplied. Computer illustrations/ photographs will be accepted. These should be separate from the word document but can be in the same CD.
If photographs of patients are used either the subjects should not be identifiable or their pictures must be accompanied by written permission to use the figures. Photographs should not be larger than 10 X 15 cm.
Legends for illustrations should be given on a separate sheet and not appear on the illustrations.
References
Reference citations should be numbered (in Arabic numerals) consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. References should be identified as superscripts within the text, table headings and figure captions. The titles of journals should be abbreviated according to the style used in Index Medicus.
